You can basically never run out of ideas, and you can be sure the kids will absolutely love it.
From math to literacy and even more. These are all the things you need to know if you want to have some real fun with your kids.
Most of these activities require little to no preparation, keep kids busy doing something they love, and are just a lot of fun for everyone.
Don’t forget that you can even make something out of the gingerbread man and wrap it as a gift for someone, it can’t not make someone happy!
Let’s check out some fun things you can do with the gingerbread man!
Gingerbread Man Collage Activity
This activity is super simple to set up and it allows your kids to explore, and create whatever they may possibly have in mind. It’s also a great way to help them develop their motor skills.
All you have to do get a few pieces of cardboard, a few buttons, some googley eyes, a pair of scissors and glue, and you’re all set to go.
You don’t even have to show them what to do, just sit and watch. Most kids have seen a gingerbread man before, and they’ll start making one from memory. This can be a wonderful practice for both their motor skills and imagination.
It’s also a great chance for them to have some practice in arts, you never know what could come out of a kid with good imagination, which is why you should never limit them.
If you want to see even better results, make sure you give them a few markers in different colors, or maybe even some pieces of paper in the colors that they want. You’ll get results ranging from your typical gingerbread man, to an alien one, or even a princess gingerbread WOman.
Sticky Wall Gingerbread Man
This one is similar to the previous activity, but is a lot less messy.
It also requires a few more tools, nothing you can’t get your hands on at your local craft store.
You’ll need the following items:
- Clear contact paper
- Adhesive jewels
- Googly eyes
- Brown construction paper
As the name of this activity may have suggested, you will need to stick something to a wall. Before you invite your kids to come down and play, you should have already cut a few gingerbread men out of the cardboard and stuck them to the wall. Don’t put the eyes, the mouth or anything, that’s what the kids are for, and where most of the fun is anyway.
Put the rest of the supplies in a separate tray, and let the kids pick whatever they want and stick it wherever they want.
This can be super fun especially if it is a small party where you have a lot of kids at home. It will keep everyone busy and having fun. The parents can have a lot of fun too watching their kids play.
Gingerbread Man Playdough
This one is probably the easiest and most fun of them all.
First, make a large piece of dough, depending on how many children you’re trying to entertain. A 2kg piece of dough would be perfect.
Grab your usual supplies that will complete the look of the gingerbread man (buttons, jewels, googly eyes…) and let your kids make the gingerbread man on their own.
It is important to stay close by and watch, just to make sure no one is trying to eat the dough. If the kids are younger than 4 then you should never leave their side. A smart way to keep them from eating it is by giving them a pacifier to keep in their mouth throughout the time they’re making their gingerbread men.
Gingerbread Man Pancakes
This activity isn’t only fun, but also very delicious. You will be making gingerbread man-shaped pancakes, you can have your kids help you make it, which will be very fun and may even make them fall in love with making food.
