Original Mini Chalk Board

How to make your kid’s chalkboard more original? Just be creative decorating its wooden contour. Ask your kid what he would like to make out of it.

Our idea is to glue colorful buttons all over, because a little more color is always more joyful to look at. But your kid might have some other ideas, such as sketching on it.

Little smiley faces or easy animals’ drawings using permanent markers will do the job!

Or, even better, you can create original bookmarks using basic supplies you have at home. A monster bookmark for example will only require colored paper, scissors, a compass, and thread.

Cut a rectangle out of your colored paper and draw funny eyes and a heart shaped nose on it. Make a little hole at the top using the compass and knot different colorful threads through it.

DIY Pencil Holder

Why waste your roll papers when you can make them into pencil holders?

This is pretty simple, take a roll paper and wrap it in your kid’s favorite color.

If you don’t have colored paper you can just paint it.

Use any circular item you have (a lid of a small cream for instance) to draw two separate circles on white paper and cut them. Using a black marker, draw the eyes on them.

You can glue them directly and add a smiley mouth, or you can make them into glasses (because even a pencil holder has got to look nerdy!) by cutting two overlapped circles in another color.

Instead of buying an already-designed pencil case, let your kid nurture his creativity by designing his own.

Buy a solid color pencil case, and let your kid paint over it. Basic geometrical forms can actually give an amazing result of abstract art.

If not fond of geometrical forms, you can simply paint dots all over your pencil case.

Make sure to use acrylic paint so that it won’t be washed off when cleaned.

Your kid will love making a book craft for his little drawings or a collage of his favorite pictures. You will only need paper, a compass, and a thick thread.

Cut your paper into rectangles with the same dimensions and fold each of them.

Put them all together and make two holes in the middle fold line using your compass. Put your thread through the two holes and end with a knot.
